LocalNewsIn.com surpasses 2 million unique visitors in a single month just seven months after launch while expanding across 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and 465 American cities.

Pagosa Springs,, Colorado, United States, 6th Aug 2026 — For nearly two decades, entrepreneur Jeff Lundquist has built technology platforms focused on connecting people, businesses, and communities in new ways.

His latest venture, LocalNewsIn.com, began in a 19.5-foot solar-powered NoBo travel trailer in the San Juan Mountains outside Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Today, the AI-powered platform spans 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and 465 U.S. cities, and surpassed 2 million unique visitors in a single month just seven months after launch.

But LocalNewsIn.com is more than a news website. It is being built as an interactive local information network where readers can search, discover, listen, watch, and ask questions about their communities in real time.

A History of Building Technology

In 2006, Lundquist founded Homegevity.com, a real estate platform that grew to include approximately 2.5 million homes across its network.

In 2016, he launched Call Limo, a premium ride-hailing platform serving more than 200 U.S. airports. The Star Tribune featured the company with the headline, “New app attempts to become the Tiffany's of the ride-hailing scene,” highlighting its focus on commercially licensed professional drivers and a premium transportation experience.

Years later, Lundquist created the cryptocurrency project $QFE, which reached an approximate market capitalization of $25 million. During that journey, hackers compromised his cryptocurrency wallet, draining digital assets he valued at approximately $2.5 million.

Rather than walking away from technology, Lundquist continued building. He developed the concept for an augmented reality game where players would discover hidden cryptocurrency in real-world locations. A cryptocurrency launched around the project on the Bags.fm platform generated proceeds that were reinvested into building the technology that ultimately evolved into LocalNewsIn.com.

From Local News to News Prompt

One of the platform’s most distinctive features is News Prompt, an AI-powered local search and question experience that allows readers to ask about specific local topics, events, businesses, or community information — even when that information is not already listed on a traditional event page.

Instead of forcing users to scroll through static pages, News Prompt lets residents interact with local information conversationally. A reader can ask about a local event, a restaurant, a business category, a community resource, or what is happening in a specific city and receive a targeted response built around that location.

“News Prompt changes the relationship between readers and local news,” Lundquist said. “People should not have to dig through a website to find what matters. They should be able to ask their local news platform a question and get an answer.”

Reinventing Local Communities

Today, LocalNewsIn.com has grown into a comprehensive AI-powered local platform featuring:

  • AI-powered local news across 60 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and 465 U.S. cities.
  • News Prompt, allowing users to ask questions about local news, businesses, events, and community topics that may not appear on a static page.
  • More than 8,000 Local Voice writers.
  • An Explore section featuring restaurants and local businesses.
  • Access to more than 50,000 radio stations worldwide.
  • Local weather, sports, traffic, events, business directories, and community resources.
  • Proprietary CTR technology designed to help local businesses build visibility, authority, and customer engagement through AI-powered local content and community exposure.
  • The Ask a Pro platform connecting residents with trusted local businesses.

“Our vision was never just to build another news website,” Lundquist said. “We wanted to build the digital front door for every community — a place where people can read, search, discover, ask, and connect.”

Reinventing Local Business Marketing

While developing LocalNewsIn.com, Lundquist also created proprietary CTR technology designed to help local businesses strengthen visibility, digital authority, and customer engagement.

The technology combines AI-generated local content, business profiles, local news exposure, Local Voice publishing, community storytelling, News Prompt discovery, and Ask a Pro visibility into an integrated marketing ecosystem for local businesses.

“Our goal is not simply to generate clicks,” Lundquist said. “It is to help local businesses become trusted authorities within their communities while giving consumers better local information.”

Built Differently

Six years ago, Lundquist sold his home overlooking the 17th hole of a golf course in Minnesota, sold his vehicles, and moved to Pagosa Springs to experience life in the mountains.

Today he continues building LocalNewsIn.com from his 19.5-foot solar-powered NoBo travel trailer using Starlink internet while hauling his own water.

“What we have built proves innovation does not require Silicon Valley,” Lundquist said. “It requires vision, persistence, and a belief that local communities still matter.”

Strategic Growth

Following rapid growth, LocalNewsIn.com is entering its next phase of expansion.

Lundquist is open to conversations with strategic investors and partners who share the company’s mission of strengthening local communities through technology and can help accelerate the platform’s long-term vision.

“We have proven what this platform can do,” Lundquist said. “Now we are looking for the right strategic partners who believe local communities deserve world-class technology.”
